Take Delight In Me: Based from Psalm 37

Thursday 27 April 2017

Be still my child, hearken unto my voice
Can you not hear, can you not see
So listen to me, take heed and rejoice
Let your heart be still for now and always
To hear my words, you have no other choice

Do not be afraid for I am always here
You are not to worry about other’s intentions
Feel my thoughts coming from the atmosphere
For my child I am here for you now and ever more
I am always with you as I am forever near

Take delight in me my child
Take my hand and walk with me
Through the green glades you will forever be
By my side you will be in the land and prosper
So take delight in me my child

For the strength of the wicked will be shattered
If they do not take heed to my voice
They will forever be bruised and battered
No more will they feel the drops of rain
For it will be that thy people will be scattered

I will I promise make steps for my very own
As I delight in every detail of your being
You will one day I assure you head to my throne
For this day is coming I assure you
For judgement day is coming and the wicked will groan

Take delight in me my child
Take my hand and walk with me
Through the green glades you will forever be
By my side you will be in the land and prosper
So take delight in my child

I will endeavour to keep you safe always
For this I promised from the very beginning
Any evil in this land I will keep far away
Far from you as I treasure your innermost being
This world will one day be a memory a distant phase

So my child take delight in me
For your King I will forever be
No sticks or stones will break my bones
For in me you will worship and you alone

What do you do?

Thursday 27 April 2017

Do you manage to find time to pray
To me each and every day
Do you find my way isn’t your style
Maybe you just go your own sweet way
What do you do?

Do you manage to read My Word
Or is this for you too absurd
Or do you just sit and be still awhile
Or are you too busy on your mobile
What do you do?

What do you do my child
You see I know you inside out
Maybe to seek me for you is too wild
Or perhaps you’re full of doubt
It’s not just about towing the line
But it’s about taking the time
To walk and talk and be with me
Throughout each and every day

Do you just pretend I’m not there
And go your own merry way
Or do you hang around and just stare
Into nothing but empty space
What do you do?

Do you just think I don’t know
What you do with all your time
Maybe your too busy with your beau
To spend enough time with me
What do you do?

What do you do my child
You see I know all there is to see
You can’t run away and hide
Behind those big fancy trees
Maybe it’s about time
You just faced the truth
It’s not just about towing the line
It’s about your daily life
And giving up your time
And following me
So I ask you one more time -  what do you do?

If I could hold your hand once again

Tuesday 11 April 2017

This poem is based on a couple called Joey and Rory - sadly Joey Rory's wife went home to be with The Lord a short while ago so I felt led to write the following poem.

If I could hold your hand once again
I would forget all about the pain
I would if I could go on for ever
Seeking to endure or to endeavour

Why o why did you have to go
As you need to know I loved you so
Through the pouring rain and the tears
I would give you back time throughout the years

If only you were here once more
I would go on loving you more than I did before
I would dance away to my heart’s content
For I know for me you were heaven sent

Why O why did you have to go
As you need to know I loved you so
Through the pouring rain and the tears
I would give you back time throughout the years

Why O why did you have to go
Wasn’t our love enough I need to know
But now I guess you can put the past to rest
Soon to be a distance memory, it’s for the best

But now I know you are in a safe place
No more pain or grief will you have to face
Through Jesus’ eyes you are home at last
No longer will you have to face the past

But if I could hold your hand once again
There’s nothing I would change,
Forever you will be the same
