It Feels Like Only Yesterday

Thursday 5 January 2017

It Feels Like Only Yesterday
It feels like only yesterday
That we were together
And I thought this was meant to be
But how wrong could I be
The thought of you and me
Into the distance memories fade away

The path we were on so broken
Now take a look at us
The love we once shared now shattered
Now nothing really matters
My self esteem in tatters
Moving forward seems so hard to do

How did this happen I wonder?
Now just an empty road
I just cant seem to just let go
The gentle whispers in my ear
I cant feel them but I can still hear
It feels like only yesterday

A love that once was so strong
It felt so right together
Even though we shed tears and laughter
It was for me happy ever after
We could sail away on rafters
Forever and a day, just together

I guess the damage has been done
Our paths no longer cross
I’m lost for words, what can I say
No going back, there is no way
Time to go forward from today
From a distance, you’ll soon be a memory

How did this happen I wonder?
Where did our love go wrong?
Now it’s just an empty song
I know every story has a reason
I now need to put all my trust in Jesus
No more yesterday’s, my only hope is in today

Wednesday 4 January 2017

Wednesday Snap Shot is a quick peek into my week.

I'll come and visit you and read about your homemaking week!! :) and you can go to Crystal's Blog here who started the Wednesday Snap Shot HERE

So Far This Week I have also used my Spiralizer and made tons of spiralized veggies which 3/4s are in the freezer to be used over the next couple of weeks - yum :).

I have also started a bible reading plan with a group on facebook and we are going through the book of 1 John at the moment which is such fun plus we are reading through a book called "How to study the bible" - I have yet to receive mine in the post which will hopefully arrive by the end of this week along with a couple of Christian Women's magazines I have ordered too.

I have also made a card and put in the post cards and pressies for birthdays at the beginning of this month.

On My To-Do List is to do some much needed housework at some point, hoping the hoover won't scare my kitten too much. Plus I intend making some menu plans for the coming weeks

My goals for this week are:

To lose at least 3lbs in weight for Slimming World next week.
Be more consistent with my bible reading
Read and study Psalm 1 to go through with a friend next Wednesday
To not hide myself away to much at home which I can so easily do.

Projects I'm Working On I plan on working on putting together a "War Journal" this is a series of journals inside what is called a Traveller's Notebook which I shall "pretty up" and make my own with various scriptures and stickers etc. This is the only project I am working on at the moment.

Today's Weather  -1 which it has been for most of the day. it has been sunny near enough all day but with a hard frost on the ground and bitterly cold

The View from where I am sitting: I am facing my  prayer wall which has all kinds of prayers posted :)

What I'm Reading. I am still reading Beauty for Ashes from Joyce Meyer and this is a brilliant book for women. The book is about receiving emotional healing from all kinds of areas that may be needed during your life. It is a good book and one I hope to come back to time and time again.

I am also reading and studying my bible which is good and though I missed yesterday's reading I am going to make sure that I keep up on this on a daily basis.

What I'm Listening To. My cat moving around on the windowsill and the quiet gentle hum of my laptop. Otherwise you can hear a pin drop in my apartment lol

Something Frugal I've Done This Week. I peeled lots of veggies and added these to a ziploc bag which is in my freezer waiting for me to make vegetable stock at some point in the next few weeks :)

Fitness for the Week. I still have not started walking yet as i said I was going to but I will be I can assure you for definite and this week too hopefully :)

Weight Loss:  Well I started slimming world today and I have 74lbs to lose. I weighed in at 228lbs  which is the heaviest I have ever been so I do plan on losing this weight this year and I was so upset when I got weighed today at SW so I need to do something about it. Yep way to go forward for sure..............

Christian ways to reduce stress

Tuesday 3 January 2017

I know I have posted these tips before but I was reminded of them again through another blog I have just read and then lo and behold, I have just received the same email from a friend - so very appropriate to re-post these tips which are brilliant.

An excellent reminder

2 ND. Thes. 3:16  May the Lord who gives peace give you peace at all times and in every way. May the Lord be with all of you.

"Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS ...

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19 Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus.."

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33 Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

vegetables and more vegetables!

Sunday 1 January 2017

Here is a bag and a half of vegetable peelings from using the spiralizer today. These bags are in the freezer ready for me to add more peelings next time and then I will make vegetable stock which should make quite a lot.

I have used my spiralizer for the first time today and have made a bag of courgette (zucchini) spaghetti which is in the fridge and will last about four days.

The other bags of mixed vegetables I have spiralized and grated as well and put these in the freezer ready to make wholesome meals with - so looking forward to my new way of eating vegetables :)
