My One Word for 2017

I dont know about you but making new year's resolutions just dont do it for me and they dont work. I have come across a site entitled My One Word which you can get HERE which basically all you do is pray and choose one word - yep just one word for the coming year.

I have chosen the word Discipline as I need much more of this in life and I need to be disciplined in different areas such as:

Prayer
Reading His Word
Excising
Losing Weight

on a daily basis plus I need God to be in my decision making first and foremost. I need to be disciplined in all areas of my life and a couple of things I have not listed here ....... but for me this is my one word for 2017.

My 101 Items to be Completed in 1001 Days

My Start Date: 1st July 2018

Ending date: 31st June 2019

(last date to complete all tasks)

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities. Go on a detox for one week every 3 months

✔Clean my apartment on a weekly basis

Purchase a “note” chest for keeping journals & letters

Clear all debts

Work on developing drawing skills at least on a three monthly basiss

Scrap booking, learn how to do this

Arrange a prayer weekend away once a year in September

Teach myself different styles of French plaiting

Arrange a pampering day for myself at least once every six months

Start to do research on family history

Make time either morning/afternoon to spend time “soaking” in God’s presence

Read more books

✔Start to build relationships with people in my church

✔Start praying on a daily basis for minimum of ten minutes (working up to one hour) a day

✔Purchase a bay trees for balcony

Refrain from eating chocolate for one month

Drink 6 – 8 glasses of water every day for one month

✔Cut down coffee to two cups a day

Maintain and keep daily paper journal

✔Visit hobby craft or similar store to stock up on “card making” materials/virtual shopping with my USA friend

Find out how to get involved with a local Adoption Panel

Make a special date with The Lord to include communion twice or more times a month

✔Start ordering staple foods wholesale (e.g. rice, chickpeas, pulses)
Read a book a week

✔Make a you tube video at least once a month
Get book published
Do bible study at least once a month from Ireland
