Holy Communion

Monday 19 March 2018

Most Sundays we partake of Jesus sacrificial love
Which was given as a sign from up above
To which we are to be reverent at all times
Especially during this time we partake of the bread and the wine

If you are not familiar with The Lord’s special supper
Which is as we know far more than just a simple cuppa
For it is now that we focus on our precious Lord
As it is His love that he gave for us which he could afford

When giving thanks, pieces of bread are broken quite small
As we remember Him for he has indeed given His all
His sacrificial love for he died to take away all our sins
So if you don’t know Him, now is the moment to let Him in

For until You know Him you are not worthy of this bread
The life He will give to you now for He was raised from the dead
For once you ask Jesus into your heart, he will be so pleased
His sacrificial love was given so on the Lord’s supper you can now feed

On the wonderful communion that we should take of more often
Not just in church but at home even, for our hearts he will soften
We need to take a moment and give thanks to Him now
For as we partake of this food, our heads we must bow

To remember the death on the cross where he was laid
The wounds He endured on that day will not fade
For so special was that time that Jesus endured on that day
The sacrifice before entering the tomb before the stone was rolled away

Take a moment won’t you and remember that all was not lost
Remember on that day that Jesus paid for our life at a cost
He died so that all our sins would be taken
But He did this for each one of us so our sins would be forsaken

When giving thanks we break the bread and take eat
This is my body which is broken for you, remember this and take heed
In the same manner we take the cup, which we drink in remembrance to him
The red wine is a sign that we should not take lightly or out on a whim

Holy Communion is partaken in churches around the globe
For as we remember Him during this time we are sure not alone
Millions of people take heed and remember what Jesus did for us
The blood and tears He shed at His death were done without a fuss

Whether you are at church or at home or somewhere quiet
Remember Jesus death by taking Holy Communion even if you are on a diet
Take time to pray and let go of anything that is going on in your heart
For letting go of any sin would be wise then in this special supper you can take part

One day soon though we do not know the hour or the time
Jesus is coming back for it is written for His bride
So until that time comes we must do all that we can
This is foretold in His Word, The Holy Bible as part of His plan
